At Gamea Consulting, we have been thinking about how the businesses and leaders we work with, have been supporting their staff whilst working remotely and maintaining the valuable connection and trust. We feel that these four areas of focus have been key
Communication - communicating clearly, regularly, and promptly on every key issue. Removing speculation and, often, unnecessary worry. Remembering that communication is a two-way process, therefore listening to your staff is as important as providing them with the latest update.
Support - offering flexibility, adapting ways of working, allowing time at the start of meetings to find out how people are doing and have social exchanges. Promoting resources that are often part of the company benefits such as Employee Assistance programs and counselling.
Recognition – celebrating every success and showing appreciation. Sharing achievements widely with colleagues to boost confidence and increase motivation.
Routine – re-evaluating existing meeting cadences and where possible, working with colleagues to determine a schedule that considers additional constraints such as homeschooling. Being consistent with touch points, adjusting agendas and duration so they are focused and productive.
Which actions do you value and why?
